Make Every Day a Kennywood Day
Kennywood is America’s Finest Traditional Amusement Park! With a mix of modern thrills and classic rides, tasty treats, and some of the world’s best French fries, you’ll find something for everyone at Kennywood.
Kennywood’s Summer Season begins the first weekend in May, with daily operation beginning shortly before Memorial Day and running through late August. Find the day that best fits your schedule, or the discount deals that best fit your wallet! We’ve got plenty of both to go around.
As the days shorten and the leaves turn, Kennywood welcomes spooky season with Phantom Fright Nights, our award-winning Halloween event for thrill seekers (not recommended for children under 13). For the young and young-at-heart, check out Happy Hauntings on weekday afternoons in October. And in November, get ready for Holiday Lights, where Kennywood becomes a winter wonderland of fun!
Park hours and attraction availability are subject to change without notice.
Park Hours: 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Kennywood’s kid-friendly Halloween event!
Kennywood is closed between Happy Hauntings & Phantom Fright Nights (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM). A separate ticket is required for each event.
A ghastly and horrifying force takes over during Phantom Fright Nights - one of Pittsburgh's best Halloween events.
Please note: PFN is a no re-entry event.
During the regular summer season, Kennywood’s gates open at 10:30 AM unless otherwise noted. Rides, attractions and refreshment stands begin to open progressively starting at 11:00 AM.
Kennywood usually closes at 10:00 PM, but may close earlier or later based on factors including weather conditions. Park closing time is determined each afternoon and announced in the early evening hours. Some rides close before the announced closing time
As the summer comes to a close and students return to school, Kennywood begins preparing for its Halloween spectacular, Phantom Fright Nights. Select Park attractions may not be available during limited operations, as they are converted into haunted attractions for Fright Nights. The Penny Arcade will close for the season on August 18, and last day for Raging Rapids will be Tuesday, August 20. If you are planning a visit in late August or September, be aware that some rides, food stands or other attractions may not be available for all or part of your day at Kennywood.
The fun keeps going even after the Summer Season ends! On September 21, adult guests can enjoy our craft beer festival, Brews in the Park, featuring select rides. Your taste buds will keep tingling the next day with the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival returning to Kennywood on Sunday, September 22. Both of these events require a special, separate ticket; Season Passes are not valid for either Brews in the Park or the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival.
Beginning Friday, September 27, Kennywood's award-winning Phantom Fright Nights returns to combine coasters and crazy scary fun! And on weekends in October, younger guests can enjoy Happy Hauntings, our kid-friendly Halloween event.
During the months of November and December, Kennywood becomes a winter wonderland! Holiday Lights is one of the Greater Pittsburgh area's best holiday events. Please note, Holiday Lights is weather-dependent and can be canceled or limited by extreme cold temperatures and/or heavy precipitation.
Each season, Kennywood hosts many different family-friendly activities in Pittsburgh. Find detailed information on our Events Page.
