Pittsburgh theme parks to hire 2,700 summer employees

WEST MIFFLIN, PA -- The Pittsburgh region's premier family fun attractions, Kennywood, Sandcastle Waterpark and Idlewild & SoakZone, are now accepting job applications for the 2018 summer operating season. Kennywood is the largest youth employer in the Tri-State area, and plans to hire about 1,500 individuals to work in its Rides, Games, Food & Beverage, Grounds and Public Safety departments. Idlewild will hire about 800 employees and Sandcastle approximately 400 people for the same departments. Both those parks are also recruiting lifeguards. "At Kennywood, Idlewild and Sandcastle, fun is our job," says Joe Barron, Human Resources Director for Kennywood and Sandcastle. Beyond being a great addition to a young adult's resume, employment at Kennywood, Sandcastle, and Idlewild brings perks such as flexible scheduling, free admission to all three parks and a number of other regional amusement parks, discounted tickets for friends and family, team-building activities such as movie nights, intramural sports competitions and discounts on park food and merchandise.

Most Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild seasonal positions are available to applicants age 16 and older. Some job opportunities are available to those age 14 and 15.
