An Update from Our General Manager

For generations, families have made memories together right here at Kennywood. Whether it’s a first ride on the Jack Rabbit, a stop at the Potato Patch, or simply spending a day together. As Kennywood’s General Manager and a dad myself, I understand how important it is for families to feel safe, comfortable, and welcome when they visit. 

That commitment is what guided our decision to update Kennywood’s Summer Chaperone Policy. Effective June 12, 2026, our chaperone policy will be in effect during all operating hours. Under the updated chaperone policy, guests ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other supervising adult age 21 or older when visiting the park.  

Like most of you, I grew up with memories made right here at the park, and I want today's families to create those same memories for years to come. This policy is part of our ongoing commitment to preserving the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that has defined Kennywood for nearly 130 years.
