Each season Kennywood hosts some of the most memorable and fun events near Pittsburgh, PA. From the Fall Fantasy Parade to Phantom Fright Nights, guests who visit the Park during our special events can expect to receive a special 'traditional Kennywood experience'. Those looking for summer events in Pennsylvania can look no further! In July, get ready to Celebrate America at Kennywood with fun and festive fireworks at night and hangout at Summerfest; and in August, be ready to celebrate the arrival of fall with fun parades with unique themes at Fall Fantasy.

One of Kennywood’s oldest and grandest traditions, the Fall Fantasy Parades, presented by Day Automotive Group and California University of Pennsylvania! Enjoy a nightly parade featuring marching bands from local high schools and colleges, along with beautifully decorated floats! This year’s theme? Passport of Fun: Hopping Around the World! Youth Days

Date: June 18, July 6, 7, 17, 24, 25, 26 & August 8

Calling all Youth Associations! We’re offering select dates throughout the summer where your group can get major discounts off Kennywood admission! Use this as a fundraising tool for your sports team, church group or other youth organization!


August 27
First Responder Day

Date: Sunday, August 27

Kennywood salutes the men and women who protect and serve in our communities! On First Responder Day, all police, fire, EMT, dispatchers and military personnel can visit Kennywood free of charge with proof of ID. Each First Responder can purchase up to four discounted tickets for friends and family for $25 each—that’s more than $20 off the normal gate price! In between rides and Potato Patch fries, enjoy special demonstrations by local authorities, and finish the night with fireworks above the Kennywood skies!

All discounted tickets for First Responder Day must be purchased at the Kennywood gate.

September 10
Oldies Day

Date: Sunday, September 10
Savings: Tickets are $9.99 for senior citizens (55+) at the gate

Turn back the clock with us for Oldies Day! Dress in garb from your favorite era, and rock on with bands playing the hits of yesteryear!

Stratwood Catering Presents Brews in the Park

Date: Saturday, September 23
Savings: Guests must be 21 and older and show valid ID to attend. First 500 guests: $32.99. Designated Driver tickets: $19.99

Brews in the Park is back! Sample dozens of craft beers from breweries near and far, enjoy tunes from cover band Velveeta, and tasty treats from Kennywood and local food trucks! Arrive early to enjoy a select few of Kennywood’s most popular rides and attractions around the Lagoon! This event is only for guests age 21 and older. Must have valid identification; no minors permitted to attend.

Rides open from 2 – 4 pm: Sky Rocket, Jack Rabbit, Racer, Aero 360, Thunderbolt, Merry Go Round *ride lineup subject to change

Beer Tasting and Musical Performances take place from 4 – 8 pm.


Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival

Date: Sunday, September 24

The festival dedicated to one of Pittsburgh’s most popular foods debuts at Kennywood! On September 24 from 1pm-6pm come and snack on specialty pierogis, paint your own pierogi with Paint Monkey, and enjoy rides on a select number of Kennywood’s awesome attractions! There will also be live music and open Beer Garden for guests 21+.

Phantom Fright Nights

Date: Fridays and Saturdays from September 29 – October 28, plus Sunday, Oct. 8 and 29

As the leaves turn and the days shorten, a darkness begins to fall over Kennywood. The forces that power one of the world’s fiercest coasters, The Phantom’s Revenge, grow stronger. As Halloween nears, he cannot be denied: Phantom Fright Nights returns for its 15th year of frights.

Come experience the most intense spectacles of sheer terror, and Kennywood’s terrifying thrill rides. This October, face your fear.


Happy Hauntings

Date: Saturdays & Sundays, Oct. 7 – 29

New for Fall 2017, Kennywood introduces Happy Hauntings, a kid-friendly Halloween event! Recommended for children age 10 and younger, a festival of fun awaits guests in Kiddieland. Children can board their favorite rides, including their first ‘big-kid’ coaster, the Jack Rabbit! Plus a mystifying corn maze, pumpkin decorating, dance-offs with Kenny Kangaroo, and more!

Kennywood opens for Happy Hauntings on Saturdays and Sundays from October 7 – 29, from noon to 4 p.m. each day. Children may wear costumes for Happy Hauntings, though some accessories such as capes are not permitted to be worn on certain rides as a safety precaution.


Holiday Lights at Kennywood

Date: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from November 24 – December 23, and Tuesday, December 26 – Saturday, December 30.

Enjoy the most wonderful time of the year at Kennywood!
See America’s Finest Traditional Amusement Park transformed with close to two million dazzling lights. Enjoy songs of the holiday performed by local choirs. See the spectacular light show on the lagoon choreographed to your favorite holiday melodies. Visit Santa, ride the Gingerbread Express and more!
