Pittsburgh’s Home for the Holidays – Kennywood – is lifting spirits this season for Giving Tuesday. The park is partnering with the Best of the Batch Foundation, in conjunction with PepsiCo for the annual day of giving back and honoring the true meaning of the holidays.
On Giving Tuesday, November 28, Kennywood will donate one ticket to the Best of the Batch Foundation for every Season Pass purchased by guests. In addition, the park is asking guests visiting Holiday Lights this weekend to help “Stuff a Truck” by donating unwrapped toys valued at $10 or more for local families in need, all donations will go directly to the Best of the Batch Foundation at the conclusion of the weekend. Visitors are encouraged to drop their donations at the delightfully decked-out PepsiCo truck located at the park’s Main Gate. The toy drive will run during Kennywood’s Holiday Lights operating hours from Friday, December 1, through Sunday, December 3, 2023.
“We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Best of the Batch Foundation and PepsiCo to support such a worthy cause,” says Kennywood’s Assistant General Manager, Rick Spicuzza. “The park strives to provide the finest in fun and entertainment for children and families and it is important to us that everyone gets to have the Kennywood experience and create lifelong memories.”
During the toy drive on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, guests who help “Stuff a Truck” with an unwrapped toy valued at a minimum of $10 will receive discounted admission for $14.99. Each guest will receive one ticket per toy donation with a maximum of four reduced admission offers per group. The discount is available at the Kennywood Main Gate only.
The Best of the Batch Foundation offers a variety of different programs to school-aged children, annually serving over 3,800 children and their families across eight Western Pennsylvania counties. The organization was founded in 1999 by former Steelers Quarterback, Charlie Batch - to give back to his hometown of Homestead, PA. The Batch Foundation is committed to unlocking the potential in these communities and building the best future for kids and families by providing choices, motivation and education.
“We at Best of the Batch are extremely delighted to work with both PepsiCo and Kennywood this holiday season,” says Best of the Batch Foundation Founder, Charlie Batch. “We are excited to continue this partnership for years to come."
Holiday Lights continues with more festive fun on select days, including this weekend, through January 1, 2024. The best way to experience the season while giving back is with a 2024 Season Pass purchased on Giving Tuesday. Kennywood Season Passes are available for up to $40 off during the final days of the annual Cyber Week sale and select passes include free admission to Holiday Lights plus all of 2024. For the best deal, visitors can upgrade to a Platinum Season Pass and get unlimited visits to Kennywood, Sandcastle, Idlewild, Dutch Wonderland and more through 2024.
