For 120 years, Kennywood has worked to provide the finest in fun and entertainment for children, families and groups. This has been, and will continue to be, our mission. Within that mission there is also a commitment to serve our Team Members and the community at large. Today, we have a name for this century-long commitment: Kennywood Cares! We strive to be a good neighbor and a good employer in various ways, including direct ticket donations through the Kennywood Charitable Trust, Trolley and Costumed Character Appearances, and playing a supporting role for Team Members and the community.
"Hope is born again in the faces of children." - Maya Angelou
We believe that every child in the Greater Pittsburgh Area - and in nearby communities in West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland - deserve a day of fun at Kennywood, no matter their physical limitations or family's financial situation. To that end, the Kennywood Charitable Trust helps provide lasting memories of summer fun to disadvantaged children and/or children with disabilities by providing tickets to the organizations directly serving them. Since 1992, the Kennywood family of parks in Western Pennsylvania - Kennywood, Idlewild & SoakZone, and Sandcastle Waterpark - have donated more than 400,000 days of fun.
Tickets can be used directly by individual children served by a qualifying organization or used as a fundraiser for the organization's benefit.
Applications for the Kennywood Charitable Trust are accepted and reviewed each fall and winter. Applications are accepted beginning September 1, with a deadline to submit ticket requests by January 15. A rotating committee of Kennywood & Sandcastle Team Members administers the program, with applications being reviewed in February. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. Note: Idlewild & SoakZone administers their charitable ticket donations separately. Visit their page for more information.
While applications for large blocks of tickets are only accepted during the above time period, individuals requesting fewer than 10 tickets may submit requests through our website at any time.
Please understand that Kennywood & Sandcastle receive hundreds of charitable donation requests every month. While our hearts go out to all charities and their dedicated work, we simply cannot award tickets for every request.
For more than a century, Kennywood has worked to provide the finest in fun and entertainment for children, families and groups. To do so we've teamed with schools, churches, social service providers, charities, community organizations and more. This has been, and will continue to be, our mission.
Across our region, and throughout the country, individuals, groups, and non-profit organizations are working to make our world a better place. While it isn't possible to contribute to every good cause, Kennywood strives to share some of its resources to help meet needs throughout the region. For instance:
