With the sweet smell of fall in the air, Kennywood transforms into a festival of fun! Pumpkins replace flowers, and cornstalks sprout up throughout the park. Young riders can enjoy Kiddieland and favorites such as the Merry-Go-Round, Auto Race and Jack Rabbit. Plus the new Thomas Town™ at Kennywood, hay rides, and more! Enjoy traditional fun fall activities in the one-of-a-kind setting of Kennywood!
Happy Hauntings' 2018 schedule has now concluded. Check back next Summer or Fall for information on Happy Hauntings 2019.
And don’t worry, the Phantom and his fearsome friends will stay away from Happy Hauntings. This event is geared for children under 10, meaning most roller coasters and thrill rides are not available. Children may dress in costumes – some costumes may not be permitted on select rides for safety purposes. See the FAQ section below for further details.

NEW FOR 2018: Thomas Town at Kennywood
Fall fun has come to Thomas Town! Enjoy rides from Thomas, Cranky, Harold, Flynn and other Thomas & Friends favorites. Featuring a special seasonal show at Tidmouth Sheds, Steel City Adventures: A Spooktacular Celebration! Show times are 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Location: Thomas Town
NEW FOR 2018: Happy Family 4D
Happy Hauntings has expanded to include the Kennywood 4D Theater! Experience the fast-paced, magical mayhem of Happy Family 4D, written by bestselling author David Safier. The Wishbone family isn't exactly a happy family. After venturing to a local theme park, things go terribly wrong when the evil witch Babayaga turns the family into ludicrously spooky monsters. Presented in 3D with in-theater special effects, guests will be spellbound as they wonder if the Wishbone family can reverse the spell and find their happy ending... Location: 4D Theater (near Gran Prix)
Hootin' Holler Hayride
Hop aboard, settle into the hay and watch Kennywood go by on the Hootin' Holler Hayride! The Hayride picks guests up in front of the Parkside Café for a tour of select areas of Kennywood. Location: In front of the Parkside Café/Mortem Manor
The Mystery Maze
Weave your way through the maze. Watch out: some friendly monsters may be waiting! Location: Pavilions near Kiddieland
Kenny’s Spooky Sock Hop
After eating too much candy, Kenny and crew need to burn off some energy! Join them at the Garden Stage for a dance party! Location: Garden Stage. Times: 1:00 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.
Doc Dixon Magic Show
The dashing Doc Dixon descends upon Happy Hauntings with his hilarious brand of magic! Doc will perform feats of wonder twice daily, at 1:30 & 3:00 p.m.

What is Happy Hauntings?
Happy Hauntings is Kennywood’s kid-friendly Halloween event! Children can enjoy Kiddieland, Thomas Town and some ‘big-kid’ rides while trick-or-treating, participating in dance parties, and more!
When is Happy Hauntings?
Happy Hauntings takes places on Saturdays and Sundays October 6 – 28. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Please note, this event can be canceled in the event of poor weather conditions. Cancellations are announced on our website and the Kennywood Facebook and Twitter pages.
How much are tickets?
Tickets at the gate are $17.99; when purchased online, tickets are $14.99. Please note, processing fees apply to tickets purchased online, and a $1 amusement tax applies to all ticket sales. Children age 3 and under can visit Happy Hauntings free of charge. See the Tickets & Pricing section below for further information
What age is this event appropriate for?
Happy Hauntings is designed with children under 10 in mind, however, all those young in heart can expect to enjoy themselves!
Can we dress up or wear Halloween costumes for Happy Hauntings?
Children are permitted to wear costumes to Kennywood for Happy Hauntings. However, parts of some costumes (such as capes or longer accessories) may not be worn on select rides for safety reasons. Please, no adults in costume for Happy Hauntings.
What rides are open for Happy Hauntings?
The new Thomas Town™ at Kennywood attraction highlights this year's Happy Hauntings ride lineup, featuring the Journey with Thomas and four additional family-friendly rides, along with the Big Adventures Play Zone and a special seasonal show at Tidmouth Sheds. Riders can also enjoy family favorites like Jack Rabbit, Paratrooper, Gran Prix, the Merry Go Round, and a rotating selection of Kiddieland rides.
Is all of Kennywood open?
Like most of Kennywood’s special seasonal events, only a limited portion of the park is open for Happy Hauntings. The majority of activities occur in the area around the Lagoon & in Kiddieland. The Happy Hay Ride takes guests through other areas of the park, which are not accessible by foot. New this year, the Potato Patch and 4D Theater will be open as well.
Is my Season Pass valid for Happy Hauntings?
Silver, Premium, Ride & Slide, and 120th Anniversary Season Passholders can visit Happy Hauntings on Sunday dates for only $10 per Passholder. Please note, Bronze, Senior Evening and Summer Saver Season Passes are not eligible for discounted admission to Happy Hauntings.
Are any food stands open?
Yes! Many of Kennywood’s signature favorite foods (including the Potato Patch!) will be available, along with specialty seasonal items. Come hungry!
I need a wheelchair or stroller. Are they available?
Just like our Summer, Phantom Fright Nights and Holiday Lights events, wheelchairs (standard and motorized), wagons and strollers are available for rental at the park entrance.
Can I use or reserve a picnic pavilion for Happy Hauntings?
No, the picnic areas of Kennywood are closed for Happy Hauntings.
Do my Happy Hauntings tickets get me in to Phantom Fright Nights?
Happy Hauntings and Phantom Fright Nights are totally separate events, and separate tickets must be purchased to attend each event. All guests will be required to leave the park upon the conclusion of Happy Hauntings at 4 p.m.
