SOLAR ECLIPSE WARNING: AVOID DAMAGE TO YOUR EYES During the afternoon of Monday, August 21, we will experience a rare solar eclipse. While exciting, this event also carries significant risk to unprotected eyes. Please, DO NOT look directly at the sun during a solar eclipse, even with dark sunglasses, goggles, smartphones, unfiltered camera lenses, homemade filters, or scratched or wrinkled filters.
Looking at the sun without certified solar-filter eye protection (such as eclipse glasses or handheld solar viewers that meet ISO 12312-2 international safety standards), even for a short time, can cause serious and permanent damage to your eyes—including partial or total retina damage, loss of color vision, blindness, and other injuries. If you notice any symptoms after viewing the solar eclipse, seek immediate help from a licensed eye care professional.
Kennywood will not sell or offer eclipse-approved eyewear on the 21st. We encourage guests to make alternate arrangements. For additional information about how much of the eclipse you will see, please Click Here.
