ALTERNATE ROUTE #1 BELOW OFFERS THE
EASIEST ROUTE
TO KENNYWOOD AND AVOIDS CONGESTION ON BOTH HOMESTEAD GRAYS AND RANKIN BRIDGES. iT MAY BE A FEW MILES FURTHER BUT YOU'LL AVOID CONGESTION AND DELAYS.
- (1.) Guests coming from Ohio and points North and West of Pittsburgh or from points East via the PA Turnpike you should:
Follow the PA Turnpike to exit 57, then Business 22 toward Monroeville.
Immediately take Rt. 48 South (left turn from the turnpike off ramp) approx. 5 miles to Rt. 30.
Turn right onto Rt. 30 and travel west 1.9 miles to the fifth stop light at Rt. 148 South.
Turn left onto Rt. 148 (at the Get-Go) and stay on 148 south 2.7 miles until you see the sign for Duquesne (just past the fifth light and on the right).
Take the Duquesne exit and cross the bridge, which will automatically feed north on Rt. 837 toward Kennywood.
Travel approximately 4 miles on 837 and turn left at McDonalds to enter the parking lot. Note: the park is on the right; the parking lot on the left.
(2.) Visitors from Northern and Western parts of Allegheny County, coming south on I-79 (such as Erie) and from the Downtown Pittsburgh area:
Take I-376 East to Exit 5 (Homestead/Squirrel Hill) towards Homestead.
Turn left on Rt. 837 at end of the Homestead Grays Bridge. Kennywood is south on 837 approximately 4 miles.
(3.) Visitors from the SOUTH:
Travel north on I-79 to I-279 (towards Pittsburgh) to I-376 East (towards Monroeville).
Take I-376 East to Exit 5 (Homestead/Squirrel Hill) towards Homestead.
Cross the bridge and turn left onto Rt. 837 (at end of the Homestead Grays Bridge). Kennywood is south on 837 approximately 4 miles.
Or, take Rt. 51 North from Uniontown to the Elizabeth Bridge and pick up Rt. 837 North to Kennywood.
Visitors coming from the South Hills area or from the Mon Valley should be unaffected by the Rankin Bridge work.
suggested alternate routes for leaving kennywood AT END OF DAY:
Getting back to I-376
We suggest YOU exit the kennywood parking lot and go south on 837, proceed approximately 4 miles and take a left onto the duquesne-mckeesport bridge. proceed straight off the bridge onto rt 148 north. Stay on 148 north for 2.7 miles to the intersection with rt.30. turn left onto route 30 and stay on rt 30 until you reach the parkway (I-376) at forest hills (approx 3 miles)
getting to pa 51 south or north towards pittsburgh
Exit the kennywood parking lot towards the mcdonald and turn right up the hill towards the giant eagle store.
- Pass the entrance to giant eagle and proceed to the next stop sign.
- turn right onto Commonwealth Ave (1.3 miles)
- turn left onto Homestead-Duquesne Rd (.7 miles)
- turn right onto Thompson Run Rd (1.1 miles)

turn left onto Buttermilk Hollow Rd (0.6 miles)
- merge right onto Lebanon-Church Rd, staying on Lebanon-Church Rd while passing airport on right (2.9 miles)
- turn right onto ramp toward Clairton/PA 51S (.1)
- turn right onto Clairton Blvd (PA 51) (.1)
- turn right onto Curry Hollow Rd toward McKeesport (PA -885)
- Take ramp to PA 51 towards Pittsburgh

Operating Hours: Opening day is May 8. Kennywood will be closed May 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7; open May 7*, 8, 9 then closed May 10 - 14, then open May 15 and 16, then closed May 17 - 19. Kennywood is open daily May 20 - August 25.
*Note that May 7 and May 25 are Education Days with early park closing (6:00 pm) and no Kiddieland operation. Kennywood will also be closed August 25-27 and August 30-September 3.
Kennywood's gates open at 10:30 am and rides open at 11:00 am. Closing time is determined daily, but is usually around 10:00 pm depending upon weather and crowd conditions. During Phantom Fright Nights, the park is open from 7:00 pm until 1:00 am. Kennywood does not have daytime operating hours during Phantom Fright Nights.
Kenny’s ID Wristbands is a free service provided to Guests to provide parents a means to quickly reunite with separated children and party members.
Parents should write the first name of the wearer on the wristband and a 10-digit cell phone number on the wristband and instruct the wearer to find the nearest Kennywood employee if they become separated from their group and show the employee their wristband.
Kennywood will call the cell phone number on the wristband to advise the parent or guardian where their lost child is safely waiting.
Kenny’s ID Wristbands are available at the following locations: Rider Safety Center, Guest Relations Office, the Service Center and are available by request for group visits prior to arriving at the Park. KENNYWOOD SMOKING POLICY
Kennywood is a limited smoking facility. In compliance with the new smoking regulations enacted by Allegheny County, smoking is not permitted inside any building, restaurant or restroom. In addition, smoking is not permitted on park midways, eating areas, ride queue lines, or in Kiddieland. For the convenience of Guests who smoke, smoking is permitted in the following areas only:

- Gazebo near Dancing Waters
- Behind Noah's Ark
- Phantom Entrance Area
- Toy Store at Lost Kennywood Entrance
- Lost Kennywood Restroom Area

PROPER GUEST DRESS AND CONDUCT: Kennywood is a family park, and as such does not permit any overtly offensive behavior, language, or clothing. This includes, but is not limited to, profanity, clothing with hateful messages, pornography, vulgarity, illegal acts, and/or divisive political messages. Bathing suits, worn by themselves, are not permitted and must be covered up.

WHAT IF IT RAINS? The
forecast may say '30% chance of rain', but there's
a 100% chance of FUN! An overcast or rainy day
means shorter lines and just as many thrills! Plus, if the majority of rides are inoperable
for a continual two-hour period, we will gladly
offer a return visit ticket at Guest Relations—just show your receipt. Please note, Kennywood does not offer cash refunds.

parking is $6.00 per vehicle. Free parking is also
available. Free Handicap parking is near the front

services include official Children’s

Admission Policy Information for Guests with Disabilities, stroller and wagon rental, same-day
re-entry hand stamp, rest rooms, ATM, and Group
Sales and Guest Relations offices. Manual wheelchairs are available for rent on a first- come, first-served basis. The rental fee is $10.00.
CREDIT CARDS: We
welcome VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS,
and Traveler’s Checks at
Guest Relations, all gift shops and most food stands.
ATM machines and rental lockers are located within the park.
RIDES & GAMES: The
park features thirty-one major rides, including
three water rides, three classic wood coasters,
the Phantom’s Revenge steel
coaster, and a one-of-a-kind indoor coaster,
the Exterminator. Kiddieland offers
16 “just

shops and one arcade, Kennywood’s action

WEATHER
CONDITIONS: For safety reasons, rides may shut down due
to lightning or other severe
weather. Rides will re-open when severe weather
passes.
FOOD: Find
most any treat your tummy craves at one
of the plentiful refreshment stands located
throughout the park. Or, sit down and relax
at the Parkside Cafe,
a cafeteria-style restaurant.
SHADED PICNIC
GROVES: Yes, picnic baskets are still welcome
at Kennywood! Note: Alcoholic beverages
are not permitted on park grounds. Catering for groups is also available. Click

ENTERTAINMENT: Our traditional "Celebrate America Festival" provides
old-fashioned fun from June 29-July 5, and includes craft booths, a parade, and
