Kennywood doggie race has disabled competitor

A disabled dachshund gets to display its determination in Kennywood's doggie derby. Asher the dachshund gets around with help from a special pet wheelchair bought by his owner, Laura Schumm. Kennywood To Open; New Ride Unveiled

WTAE Channel 4 Action News

WTAE Channel 4 Action News got a sneak peek at some of the big changes, which include a new ride and healthier food. Cosmic Chaos swoops and swivels with up to 24 riders at a time, sitting in a motorcycle-looking seat. All riders are nestled in with electronic back supporters. The ride reaches 60 feet as it swings from side to side while a disk swivels, still carrying riders. "You get some air time going up and then you feel like you're Superman," said Mark Atterson of Kennywood. "It's a flying kind of thing." Read More...

Kennywood Park is such a Pittsburgh icon that it is hard to imagine life here without it. Even the controversy surrounding the new ticket pricing structure at the amusement park was an unwitting compliment of sorts. The critics had an air of personal grievance about them -- how could my Kennywood do that!
