American Business
Ethics Award
It was a most prestigious award,
and Kennywood Entertainment Co. was proud to
be one of the initial recipients.
Given by the Pittsburgh Chapter of Society
of Financial Service Professionals last June.
The American Business
Ethics Award went to companies in three categories,
based on employee totals. The 2001 honors went
to Alcoa, Kennywood, and Waller Corporation.
Criteria were formidable. Awardees were chosen
based on ethical business practice in everyday
operation. Kennywood Entertainment is grateful
for this honor.
International Kudos!
The annual trade
show of the International Association of Amusement
Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) drew 30,000 amusement
industry professionals from around the world
to Orlando in November.
From all those, five individuals were singled out for the 2002 Service Awards.
Two are from Kennywood Entertainment Company. |

Andy Quinn,
Director of Community Relations at Kennywood,
was presented with the Meritorious
Service Award. It's given to "an
individual or organization that has improved
the industry's standing nationally or internationally." Andy
is the IAAPA Government Relations Committee Chairman.
The Outstanding Service Award is given to "persons who have constantly
fostered a spirit of Goodwill and professionalism in the industry." The
recipient was Bobbie Wages, current IAAPA Treasurer and Administrations Director
of Lake Compounce,
our park in Bristol, Connecticut.
We're very proud of Andy and Bobbie for receiving these honors … but
then, we always knew they were special!

St. Anthony Award
Kennywood's collection of prestigious community awards grew by one in November, 2003.
The park was a recipient of the St. Anthony
School's 2003 Opportunity Award, one of
those made at the annual dinner in the
Westin Hotel.
Bishop Donald Wuerl made the presentation.
It acknowledges Kennywood's employment of
students from the school in season positions.
St. Anthony's mission is to provide an opportunity
for mentally challenged children to attend
the same school as their peers.

Kennywood has long been acknowledged as "America's
Finest Traditional Amusement Park." That
designation has been accorded it by enthusiast
organization polls, trade journals and
the national media.
In 2001 the park received even a loftier
