Education Days had a somewhat humble beginning. In 1987, High School Physics teacher Ed Henke approached Kennywood about the possibility of using the park as a lab. After being given the go-ahead, Ed wrote an extensive test incorporating classroom material with amusement park rides. That year approximately 100 students from 6 schools participated.
Today a variety of interdisciplinary educational programs offer opportunities for thousands of students to see classroom information come to life at Kennywood.
