The most beautiful
music in the world is the sound of children laughing.
Did you know Kennywood was one of the first amusement parks to have a
special area for young children? In 1923, miniature versions of the
Whip, Carousel, Ferris Wheel and a swan swing were located next to
the Jack Rabbit. In 1927 the kiddie area moved to its current location.
Today the little 1923 Mangels Carousel (a.k.a. Merry-Go-Round) remains
fully intact. The original Ferris Wheel structure remains, with cars
replaced in 1972. A vintage miniature Whip from Boston's defunct
Paragon Park replaced Kennywood's Kiddie Whip after it was destroyed
in the 1975 Dance Hall (Ghost Ship) fire.
Like the "big park", Kiddieland keeps the best of the old, while adding
the best of the new. Today Kiddieland offers a variety of rides and games...
all ready to offer your tots a fun and memorable experience. Here's a

CRAZY TROLLEY
Since Kennywood started out as a trolley park, here is your opportunity to take a ride on a genuine replica of days gone by. This trolley takes you off the ground and lowers you back down in a circular pattern. Parents you can ride with their children. Children under 36” tall must ride with a responsible person; there is no maximum height restriction.
DIZZY DYNAMO
Dizzy is the perfect word to describe this ride. Children and parents ride in bucket cars and the entire ride spins. Children under 36” tall must ride with a responsible person; there is no maximum height restriction.
ELEPHANT
PARADE
Elephant shaped cars travel around in a circle and you have the ability to make your elephant fly. Children must be under 56” tall to ride.
WHACKY WHEEL
This is a classic kiddie ferris wheel. It has 6 cars shaped like cages. Children must be under 56” tall to ride.
This pint sized coaster may look smaller than it’s cousin the Phantom’s Revenge, but it has its own thrills. Parents can ride with their children. Children under 36” tall must ride with a responsible person.
KENNY'S KAROUSEL
This is the miniature version of the Merry-Go-Round. On the smaller version there are 16 jumping horses, 10 stationary horses and 2 chariots. Children must be under 56” tall to ride.
ORBITER
If you ever wanted to ride in a spaceship here is your chance. Children must be under 48” tall to ride.
STEEL CITY CHOPPERS
The little dare devils can ride miniature motorcycles, but don’t worry they only go around in a circle. Children must be under 56” tall to ride.
POUNCE BOUNCE
Sitting atop this cheese tower of mice is everyone’s favorite fat cat. This centerpiece ride takes four cars of four passengers each up to the top of this 50-foot tower. The riders are then dropped and pulled back up in a bouncing motion. Parents can ride with their children. Children under 36” tall must ride with a responsible person.
RED BARON
Become a flying ace in one of our replica planes from WW2. You have complete control over how high your plane will fly. Children must be under 56” tall to ride.
WHIRLWIND
This is the kiddie version of the German Swings. Children must be under 52” tall to ride.
TURTLE CHASE
The cars are shaped like baby turtles. You can find its mama in the big park. The humps are smaller but the thrill is just as large. Parents can ride with their children. No minimum height restriction, but children must be able to walk on their own.
WHIPPERSNAPPER
A smaller version of the large mangles Whip found in the Lost Kennywood area of the park. The kiddie whip was one of the first four Kiddieland rides Kennywood purchased in 1924.It is still a favorite today. Children must be under 52” tall to ride.
SS KENNY
Kenny Kangaroo is the official skipper of this new family ride. Step aboard his official tugboat and be ready for fun. This tugboat rocks you back and forth, but beware of rough waters ahead when the boat begins to go in a circular pattern. Parents you can ride with their children. Children under 42” tall must ride with a responsible person; there is no maximum height restriction.
